Save the Grind is a feature film comedy about a millennial slacker, Narnia Spell, who disguises herself as a lesbian to strike up a romantic relationship with tech-billionaire CEO Glen Coburn. When she uncovers a sinister plan to close her family’s coffee shop, Narnia goes in for a lesbian-kill.

Eric Wilson
Matthew Moglia and Eric Wilson produced projects under their name E&M Productions before founding Oakland Illest Pictures LLC. The two have been working together for 28 years. Their main inspiration comes from ’80s and ’90s movies such as Dumb and Dumber, Tommy Boy, Spaceballs, Wayne’s World, Kingpin, Dead Alive, and The Goonies.

Matthew Moglia is a Screenwriter, Producer, and Director. His career started in 2001 where he worked at creative think-tank Stupid Fun Club as a film editor for Will Wright, creator of The Sims, SimCity, Spore and TV's Battle Bots. In 2003 Matthew moved to work in Los Angeles for Producer Topper Carew, creator of the Martin Lawrence Show. In 2006 Matthew transitioned back to Oakland to work as a producer for GB Films alongside veteran producer Andy Hill. With GB Films Matthew pitched his original idea to Sony which was green-lit for production. The webseries titled Judgement Day starring Kamau Bell (CNN's United Shades of America) was directed by Matthew for Sony's Crackle which expanded production to New York and Miami by the end of the year. In 2009 Matthew developed and built a 6000sq/ft production facility which became Athena Studios run by award winning designer Jon Peters. In 2011 Matthew produced a feature action film directed by Henry Kim, titled No Rest for the Wicked and produced a short film directed by Eric Wilson (Editor, NCIS: Los Angeles) titled The Coffers which was bought by ShortsTV and aired nationally. In 2013 Matthew returned to work with Henry Kim to produce a sequel to No Rest titled At Dawn they Sleep starring James Kyson (Heroes, Despicable Me). In 2013 Matthew began working alongside cult hero screenwriter Victor Miller, writer-creator of Friday the 13th, to develop a feature film titled Save the Grind. At the same time he developed the storyboards alongside Hollywood Storyboard Artist Chris Buchinsky from movies such as Brüno, As Good As It Gets, Dodgeball, Spider-Man 2, and Office Space.

Producer/Director Eric Wilson is an Oakland, CA native and an alumnus of the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. He is currently an Editor for the CBS procedural crime dramedy NCIS: Los Angeles. He developed an interest in filmmaking after being exposed to the precepts of photography as a child. He is an avid Time-Lapse Photographer and has independently produced two short films, The Possum and The Coffers, which both incorporate the use of time-lapse photography. His films are characterized by a strong reliance on formal aspects of cinema, most particularly to traits of photography and editing. His images can also be spotted in the Chris Rock coming-of-age comedy Everybody Hates Chris. His favorite format is IMAX.

Chris Buchinsky
Victor Miller is the cult hero creator and screenwriter of Friday the 13th. He worked alongside Matt and Eric to develop the screenplay for Save the Grind. The development began in late 2012 and continued for 18 months finally wrapping up after 19 revisions.
Chris Buchinsky is a Cleo Award-winning storyboard artist. He has boarded 500+ Hollywood films including Spider-Man 2, I Robot, Moneyball, Dodgeball, As Good As It Gets, and Office Space. Chris read the script for Save the Grind in two hours and said “I couldn’t put it down.” He worked with Matt and Eric to develop the storyboards for the film.
